I am looking to buy an EMM for a 1999 Evinrude 150 FICHT.

Part number 0586496
ECU AY, 99-00 6V6

Engine Model number E150FPXEEN
Engine SN - G04679558

Evinrude has no more inventory of this item and have had no luck getting mine repaired.
Lots of online parts sites list the part but really don't have it available.

I would really like to find a new one on the shelf somewhere, but at this point would consider a working used one as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

marine engine.com can ship within 5-7 days. also crowley marine can deliver within 6-8 days. it is not a cheap part close to 2000 dollars.

Not to be insulting, but I would think of getting rid of that motor. They were a real POS. I was out there when they first came out.

i agree with you on the first ones and disagree on the improved fichts . the improved were a fireworks of technology, ahead of their time, and even now a healthy ficht "ram" takes up a head to head comparision in throttle response , power vs weight and overall running characteristics with a modern fuel injected outboard - a thing NO carburated engine of the time is able to do.

they are blamed because many people do not understand them and mess them up with DIY where the ficht is very sensitive.

afaik DFI only repairs - but nevertheless : they cannot help you when you send them your defective EMM ? ( btw, are you talking a watercooled EMM or the older aircooled ECU ? )

Thanks for all the responses. Good forum.
Enginemarine.com - no luck. They, like most other online boat motor suppliers, do not have inventory but sell oem parts from manufacturer. I tried about 5 .com sites. All nice folks but no part. Found it's just best to call them if they list a phone number and find out if they really can get a part.
DFI Technologies - They attempted to rebuild my original EMM but in 2 months have been unsuccessful. They seem to be the only fish in the water for this kind of work, but my unit was not responding to treatment.
I gave up the search for a new part and purchased a used one through:

Advanced Marine Inc
18918 US 31
Interlochen Mi 49643
Tech help 231-275-5859 JOE

They are a used parts dealer. Joe was helpful and they warranty the part.
Of course, it still has to go to DFI to be programmed to my injectors.
This has been a real education for me.
The boat and motors only have 240 hours on them and run REALLY well normally.
Not ready to invest in a repower just yet.

If this doesn't work out I will call the shop in Alabama.

Thanks again for all your responses.
I'll update this thread when / if I have the motor running again.

Terry
