You can get kits to rebuild the fuel side of the vro at Maxrules.com. Then disconnect the oil side of the vro and premix the fuel.

thank you .I would like to remove the complete fuel assembly & just put a regular fuel pump on that will work . The old one has crack in , hence the reason for the replacement

Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up the fuel pumps for a 1983 90 horse power motor. Last year before the vro.

There is a place on the intake manifold for the 1983 model pump to mount directly to a pulse port.----A pump from an 88 HP special model will also work.-----Remove the pulse fitting for the VRO and install a plug there.

The old-style 88 hp premix fuel pump supercedes a few times up to Bombardier part number 438556. racerone is correct, you'd have to plug the pulse fitting, as this premix pump mounts directly to the side of the engine. (you will need a 303615 gasket, too.) If you want to reuse the existing fuel pulse line using an alternative factory premix pump, you can purchase this factory fuel pump instead: 438559. It will connect up just like your current VRO. No gasket required. Either will work just fine.
