1989 25 hp johnson leak

Hey guys, On my 25 hp johnson there is 2 little holes on the upper part of the lower unit. When I run the motor there is a very slow leak of dark oily stuff coming out of them? Im not sure if this is normal?

Should be normal but check that a sparkplug isnt looking too oily or uneven, in case one cylinder isnt firing

It wouldn't hurt to check your gear case oil also.
