I have a Johnson 1999 130hp Model# J130PLEED, I'm trying to determine what size voltage regulator I have.

9,10, 20 or 35amp regulator?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

I am not familiar with that motor, but the part catalog Johnson Ignition System Parts for 1999 130hp BJ130PLEED Outboard Motor only shows 10A regulators (item 114).
The stators shown are 9A units (item 4).
Looks like the factory set up is for max. 9A load.

Check the part numbers, that might help you to find out what exactly you got on your motor.
You need to look both at the stator and the rectifier to find out the maximum permissible load. It is the smaller of the two ratings.

Top of motor, in the water jacket, underneath the CDI cover.

I looked at the top of the regulator and there is no part number from what I see, It could be on the bottome side.

Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up your motor. They only show one regulator.

I located the wire tag on the stator and found the part number, it's a 9amp stator so the voltage regulator would be as you said!

Thanks.
