1989 EVINRUDE 155hp TILT/TRIM PUMP Help

I have a 1989 !55hp Evinrude, Just had a quick question about the Tilt/Trim Pump..I got the T/T connected, but when I go either way up or down, the T&T motor would run for about a good 15 to 20 sec. before it moves the motor. it does it rather i'm tilting up or down...Is this normal..

Are you sure the hydraulic tilt/trim reservoir is full?

Not sure, I have not checked it, because it's working fine.. it just take that 15 to 20 sec before it move the motor..I will check the level today..

Ok I checked the fuild in the T/T it was a little low, so I fill it up bleed the system same results..it take about a good 10 to 15 sec. of the T/T motor running before the motor begain to tilt. Any ideas..

If the filling and bleeding of the reservoir does not change anything, then you need to troubleshoot the system. The factory service manual provides that factory troubleshooting information. There is information in that manual regarding the functioning of the system valves. Further, they show how to test the electrical system for current draw and explain what type failures lead to high/low current draw.
