I recently got this motor and replaced the water pump. Once I put it all back together no water pumped out. My question is where does the copper tube suppose to go? Is this a hole it slides in?

I'm sorry I wasn't very specific. We're does the copper pipe go up in the motor?

No worries.
The pipe carries the water up to the bottom of the motor where the water then enters the engine base through the port in the adaptor plate

Does exhaust come out the pisser? I had a 35 that did not pump water and exhaust was coming out of the pisser and it turned out to be a corrosion hole in the exhaust water jacket, the internal one

I'm confused. Are you saying you pulled the copper water tube from the power head?

When I pulled the lower unit the hole copper pipe came out also. The copper pipe was connected to the housing on the water pump. Hopefully this helps out

You may need to remove the powerhead to fix this as exhaust gas will push in any gaps if its shoved back up there and doesnt seat totally.
You could try coating it in a gasket goo and pushing it back up in there. Tightening the gearbox might get it pushed up the correct distance

Ok I figured I would have to do that. How do you go about taking the power head off?

photograph/label everything so you know where it goes for reinstall.
post photos if you a unsure.
Then take off everything that joins the powerhead to the base.
Then undo the bolts that point upwards holding the powerhead to base, they are under the lower cowling cover, they may need heat if seized in there.
Keep the gearbox off.
