Anybody familiar with TELEFLEX CABLES 33C style ?

I am having trouble at the LINK & PIN ASSY. My Morse MT-3 Control sometimes gets hung up when shifting into reverse. Seems as though if the assembly would tilt at the same angle as the cable that would straighten out what appears to be the problem. Neither Evinrude or Teleflex have an answer for me and as a matter of fact they have never heard of this problem before so it must be me. Here are the 2 parts.
