I have some new information on my motor. It is not firing on cylinder 1 and cylinder 4. It is getting fire to the plug but not igniting in the cylinder. I have pulled the plugs to check for spark and its getting a good spark. So if anyone knows how I can fix the problem let me know please.

1996 Johnson 140 ,are you sure ,don't find listing on that motor . Check compression and see if cylinders are getting fuel .Sounds like a bad head gasket .

The motor was a 1992 112 spl. Might be older not sure but one cylinder was bad so I put a different power head on it the power head was of a 115 or bigger but the year was 1996. I have had nothing but problems with this thing since I bought it. I still think its got something to do with my carburetors witch I have rebuilt once and cleaned three times checking and rechecking everything to make sure they are right. I have replaced the stator and checked the compression on all four cylinders the compression on #1 is 100 #2 is 125 #3 is 120 and #4 is 110. I am stumped with this thing.

compressions ok. sparks ok so it's gotta be fuel. pump your primer bulb and open the float bowl screw to make sure your getting fuel. i've had a crack in one of those little manifold connecter, impossible to see but leaky.
