I purchased a 78 boat with a power pilot control. I was curious about the throttle friction knob, so I tried it to see if it was any better. Now I can't get the boat in natural to start it or reverse. Hours before this I had started the motor. I am not sure what to do to fix this. Any help? I did take the lower cover off after to see if I had lodged a hornet nest or some thing in the way of the throttle.

I didn't see a spring. Not sure what to do. Have to find a boat mechanic to fix it I think.

Post the model number of your engine, maybe someone will have a breakdown of the control.
