hey im new to boats and the site..but im mechanically incline.
i took the fuel pump apart and it fell apart and was wondering if anyone knows how to
get this thing back together?
It was starving for fuel and i couldnt pump the bulb at all to get fuel to flow.
ive rebuilt and cleaned the carbs and this is what i believe to be the problem.
theres some springs and some caps in there i cant figure out where they go..
or if i could find a replacement fuel pump id appreciate any advise on that aswell.
thanx alot
nice looking great site.
its a 76 Johnson 115 V4 seahorse.

Stick with an original type pump. They are actually quite reliable. Your old 76 pump rubber components were never made to handle today's ethanol fuels. The new ones are. The electric pumps may not be able to sense when there is a problem with the engine (ie: fuel leak) and they'll just keep on pumping. You'd need additional safety features that you've not mentioned-if you want to go electric.
