how to remove powerhead/johnson 70

Hey everyone I have a 1980 Johnson 70 which has a worn out midsection swivel knuckle/bracket not sure exactly what it's called and was told that the powerhead would have to be removed as well as the lower unit.I've never pulled one and don't have the manual to go by.I'm sure I can do it just gotta know what the procedure is.Thanks in advance.Ron

You basicly have to tear the complete engine apart, lots of steps to tear it down and put it back togeather. To be honest, getting a factory manual would be a great help.

your local library will have your manual, you can also find much of the needed info at marineengine.com & many other web-sites. good luck.
