I have a 1991 Johnson 60 that had not been started for 6 months when I tried to start it it would fire up in warm up mode and would rev up real high then die. The only way that it would stay started was to pump the choke. I have had the compression checked and it is good. I need some ideas on how to proceed from here.

Welcome to the forum.
If you have to keep using the choke to keep the engine running, it is usually a sign that the carbs need cleaning.
Have you checked the spark to see if you have good spark on both cylinders?
