I just picked up my 94 Four Winns 20' Sundowner from a friend who installed a used Evinrude 150 he had at his marina from a trade in on a dual engine upgrade he did. We originally had a 175 that snapped a connecting rod and the cost of repair was not do-able. He recommends we install a doel fin to help with quicker planing out which was also a problem with the old motor. Looking online I see many people recommending the SE Sport 300 but then I was wondering if that additional no drill kit option is necessary? This boat is mainly just to take the grandkids clamming or tubing to Fire Island so top end speed is not a concern but planing out at a lower speed would be a great help. thanks
