1960 Evinrude 75hp disassembly mag/distributor

Hello, im tearing down and rebuilding this engine and got stuck on the magneto distributor assembly. How do i remove the magneto pulley its attached to the cam and spins but wont come off. Any help ????

It should lift right of easily. Probably a bit of a burr sticking in the threads. If it won't come, use your flywheel puller or harmonic balancer puller (3 bolts). Did it have a thin flat washer under the lockwasher? If not, that probably is why it burred.

Not sure if it had a washer but its on there good. I couldn't tell if it was screwed on or just sat on the cam. Thanks for the quick reply I'll try the puller. If It works going to have to smack myself. Thanks again...

Put the nut back on just to cover the top threads. Then hold the pulley in your hand and rap the nut with a plastic hammer.
