I have a 2000 Johnson 15 hp two stroke that over headed and seized. It was stuck pretty good. I managed to get unstuck and had it running but she still seems a bit tight even with the head off. Cylinder walls look good. I have not split the case yet to check crank & bearings? Do you think the powerhead is junk or would a good honing and new rings fix the problem? I don't think its worth spending money on boring and over size pistons as the pistons alone are $100 each and it goes on & on $$$

buy compresion tester. and try compresion results first,
after tests you will know what to do,
i think bearings shoud be fine if you run on 1/50 mix

I split the case found the bearings cooked, looks like moisture got in there - its junk
