hi my 1983 Evinrude 4.5hp has idle problem. The motor cuts off as soon as I throttle to idle. It only starts if I have the throttle past midway to full on. I also noticed that if I restrict the air flow on the air intake by partially covering it with my finger it will idle OK!!!
I tried adjusting the fuel mix to make it richer but this did not help much.
Also does this motor come with an air filter as it does not have one. Appreciate any suggestion as holding my finger over the intake is not going to work for me
