Can someone tell me what this plug is for? I see the wire and plug that goes into this but it's been unplugged since I bought the boat. The plug has three prongs but only one is in use and it is purple.

Thanks,

Does your boat have a tac in it, it looks like the harness connector for a tac.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is that knob between the ignition and the tach?

It's the throttle friction adjustment.

I don't have a tach.. I have a trim gauge, but I don't know if it works. Haven't had the boat long and never look at it, it's kind of pointless in such a small boat IMO but whatever.

I wonder why the plug is there and the boat motor has one too. It's the original outboard so I'm not sure why they would wire the boat with a tach plug when it doesn't have one.

The control box comes pre-wired to fit all the engines. If you have a tac, as anoption, all you have to do is plug it in.
