I have a 1987 60hp Johnson, runs great, i did like what everyone says to do and disconnected the vro and i;m premixing the gas and oil. the problem is that the remote control still thinks its hooked up to the oil tank and that the oil level is low and starts buzzing a minute after i start it. anyone know how to stop the buzzing without removing the horn for overheating?

no, there is a 3-wire harness that is still connected.

Disconnect that harness and see what happens. You're not using the oiling system anymore.

i disconnected that wire harness and the motor still runs and no more warning buzzer...thanks! i always thought that vro fuel pump was an electric pump and needed that connection. the next question is should i completely remove it and go with a vaccuum/pulse style pump?

As long as the fuel side is pumping fuel, I would use it.
