Drive shaft on my Evinrude 50hp snapped in half at the impeller. I haven't replaced one before, and it seems fairly straightforward, but I'd hate to screw something up in the lower gears by moving too fast or not following correct procedure.
Any tips or warnings? Or does anyone have a good procedural link??

Thanks!

Got a manual?
It's not to hard to do, but there are some shims on the driveshaft that you need to make sure the tolerence is correct.

A puller is required to remove the prop shaft bearing housing
A special drive shaft spline socket part number 316612 is used to remove / install the pinion nut.
A torque wrench is used to install the pinion nut to correct torque (Don't guess at it)
A special tool 315767 is used to determine the drive shaft shims required
A honking-big pair of snap ring pliers is needed to remove/reinstall the two honking-big snap rings.
A pair of guide pins is used to reinstall the bearing housing.
