1987 Johnson 15 hp LU rebuild

I am considering rebuilding the lower unit on a 1987 Johnson 15 hp short shaft tiller. It appears a seal is bad (haven't identified the actual cause) and was ran with no lube and LU is very stiff. I am thinking of replacing the bearings and seals, I think the gears are ok, but haven't inspected them yet. I have not consulted a manual yet. Just wondering what I would be getting myself into. Are the bearings pressed in? What degree of difficulty would this project be? Any info from those who know would be appreciated.

If you want to do this yourself get an OEM Factory Service Manual as this tells all. Clymer and Seloc Suck!!
