HELP! Cant figure out which water pump kit!

Hi guys,

I have a 1992 55HP Commercial Johnson, I ordered a new water pump kit for it Pt no 396933. I got the part number off of the Shop2.evinrude site, but when I pulled the gear box off and took the water pump off I ran into a massive problem...the kit doesn't fit, nor is it close! Bigger housing, impeller and the holes where it slides down the shaft is smaller in the new kit - see pic.
It was an ex Australian Army motor and thats all I know, it takes the larger diameter 13 spline prop if that helps?

Which kit do I need to order? any help would be great.

part number on the old housing is 438545? Does this make it a 1995 year? Army removed tag and everything was Matt black when I got it

Try this part # for the kit 5000308 KIT AY,WATER PUMP $79.99 and this part number for the 0437059 IMPELLER ASSY. $52.96

I cross referenced off of your old housing.

Going on that, woul this motor more likely be a 97ish?

Possible I just crossed matched the part number and a bunch of different engines came up. See if you can find the welch plug on the block that should have the serial number and model number.

Thanks for your help, unfortunately only a part number on the welsh plug, so buggered if I know?
