Johnson 4.0 deluxe with no spark

Good evening, I am new to the world of boating hence my first post on here. So I have a Johnson 4.0 deluxe engine which I'm having problems with. I cant seem to get a spark. Could this be due to a faulty power pack? I also noticed that the kill switch wiring is damaged and so it maybe shorting out. Does any one know of a repair specialist in the UK that I can take the engine to? Many Thanks.

The kill switch wiring is probably your problem. You can bypass it for testing. Replacing the switch is easy.

Thanks for your input. When the switch is pressed does that close or open the circuit? I'm just thinking that if I cut the kill switch wires and press them together to bypass the switch, should the engine start?

No, they are connected together when you push the button to stop the mtr.
