Please Help:
I removed lower unit to replace water pump. Removed housing, impeller etc. removed plate cleaned old gasket under plate.
Is there supposed to be some 0 ring under the plate? (My motor does not have one). Installed new gasket, then plate, then o ring, then impeller blades pointing to right in the impeller liner, then small o ring in housing between liner and housing, and large seal on bottom of housing, put grommet in housing, installed cover, put grommet in larger hole in cover, put o ring on driveshaft. Is this correct or am I missing something??? Tried to put lower unit back on, shift cable not going thru hole, can not install lower unit?

below the wearplate there is an oil seal, as long as you followed the directions on the install it should be fine. does your shift rod pivot, might help on install by twisting it around with needle noses just below motor.

Should I remove water pump assembly and install an oil seal? I don't think it was included in the kit unless I did something wrong.
