recently i have begun a rebuild on my grandfathers 1988 bass tracker and johnson outboard. the engine would not start, so i cleaned the carbs and any part of the engine i could get into. put all back together and replaced the old starter, but problem remains
i hook up new gas, 50 -1 mix, and brand new battery, starter turns flywheel several inches and then cant push any farther as if the battery is not fully charged. i decided to pull spark plugs and turn the switch, flywheel spins completely around for as long as i turn the key.
can anyone give me an idea ? the engine is 150hp
