I picked it up for 25 dollars, replace head gasket, water pump.
runs great.
what is meant by 12e and 15d.
maybe 12e is 12 hp engine and 15d means 15 hp drive????

Send me a PM with your e-mail address if you want a parts book emailed to you (free). Your motor was made by OMC's Gale division. They made a bunch of brand named motors, Elto being one of them. The differences were the cowlings and paint. I actually don't have the Elto cowlings book, but everything else is good.

12 = 12 horsepower
E = Elto
15 = Designates the model year, but by no secret code. You gotta have the book to reference it.
D = "Deluxe" S = "Standard"

Don't try to make it so complicated.

Yeah I don't have the ELTO cowling part of the parts manual either, just everything else.
