18hp Johnson lower unit repair

I recently bought a fd-14 (1960) 18 hp Johnson on a 1969 Boston Whaler. The motors runs pretty good. The lower unit is leaking. I took it apart today to inspect. My concern is the drive shaft is scored pretty good where it goes through the seal into the lower unit. Do I need to replace? If so where can I find one? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Caribssol. Welcome to iboats. If the driveshaft is heavly scored it may have damaged the oil seal it passes through. You can get a reseal kit right here at iboats for about $20. Here are some great links that can walk you through the job.
