New OMC trim gauge .???

Hi , I have a brand new OMC power trim and tilt gauge to replace my old faded one
I have not yet wired it up . Because when I shack the gauge the needle moves ?
What I would like to no is a new trim gauge needle meant to move before you even wire it up .

I have a few new PTT gauges left. I just went out to check that shaking scenario. Of the three gauges I shook violently, none of the needles moved.

I'd assume you have a new gauge with internal problems.

Take it back to where you got it and try shaking another one. Who knows what goes on with todays manufacturing.
