83 Evinrude Cowling Issue

I have a 1983 Evinrude 35hp and it needs a cover over the engine, got stolen.

Does anyone know if a 1978 Johnson 35hp cover will fit ok?

That's hard to say. A quick look at the two motor covers revile different part numbers, but that could be because of the decal layouts and color schemes and not the actual sizes. Maybe you could fine your answer at a boat salvage yard... Or contact your locate OMC parts dealer in your area...
