I just got a 58 18hp that runs sweet, however it has the dreaded winter crack in the LU, I have a friend who is a very astute welder, If I disassembled the lower and took it to him all clean and spiffy is it possible to weld the small 1 inch crack? this man only welds aluminum (he is a boat builder for our local fishing fleet and he comes Highly recommended. or should I just toss and look for a better unit, also any info on what other HP lowers will fit my 58 18 would be great, I think a 15 will work , any others and what year, thanks
