Why does my fuel line drain back when the engine sits idle for 30 minutes or more. When I start out the engine only runs for about 15 seconds and stalls. I have to pump up the ball again to get going. After that the engine runs fine. I have already replaced the fuel line, ball, and connectors.

Are you sure there are no air leaks in your connections?

Once you pump it up does it run like it should? If you shut it off and start it up again in say an hour does it stall and you have to pump it again?

That is why I asked the question I did. If it's weak that could cause the problem

"It runs perfectly after restarting. Any time I try to start out after setting for 30 minutes or so I have the same problem.
After pumping and restarting, everything is fine. Runs great at high speed or trolling."

It sounds like it is more of an annoyance than a problem. If it is something you can live with I wouldn't worry too much about it. The only thing I can think of is maybe you are starting it on tilt and the gas drains out of the carbs. Possibly a stuck float that unsticks when you pump the primer bulb again.

I've been living with this for the past 10 years. I guess I can go another 10 years.
Thanks.
