Need a 1976 Johnson Control Box Replacement

I need a replacement for a 1976 johnson control box. What will work with the cables I have for this box?
I have a 1976 Johnson Seahorse 55HP.

Not seeing your actual Control Box you're referring to, I also have a 1976 Johnson 40 PH engine and a Johnson Control Box that I totally rebuilt being how there are still parts available for them yet... Can you post a picture or two and exactly what your problem is with the one you have now...?

Any Johnson/Evinrude control box up through 1995 will work. The only difference is whether the engine has power trim. If it does, you'll want a control box with the trim switch in the handle.

Hey thanks guys. Lieutenant I took your advice an rebuilt mine. It was locked up due to lack of lubrication I guess. Works better than ever now.
