Considering Purchase of 88 Wellcraft Center Console with Evinrude Sea Drive

Hello all,
A friend of mine is considering purchasing an 88 Wellcraft Center Console with Evinrude 140 Sea Drive. I have heard mixed reviews and am curious as to what we should be wary of before going further. Any help is greatly appreciated.
