will the new synthetic blend evinrude/johnson (super premium TC-W3) oil be safe to use in my 1969 25hp evinrude sportster? are there any benifits to this oil?

Re: synthetic blend 2 stroke oil.

I am a long time fan of synthetic outboard oils in general. Less smoke, superior lubrication, greater resistance to failure from overheating, usually biodegradable. I have to assume the one you ask about is very good also, though I have no direct experience with it. Since it is TC-W3, it absolutely is safe for use in your Sportster.

Re: synthetic blend 2 stroke oil.

The oil is safe. I doubt there will be any discernable benefit. Unlike F-R, I have never been able to determine the superiority of a synthetic 2 cycle oil. I did a "fly-off" in my speedboat between a $12Gal TC-W oil and a $40gal Synthetic TC-W oil. The smoke may (just may) have been less. I never saw any increase in performance. I was not sure how to measure the other claims made, i.e. resistance to failure from overheating or superior lubrication, so I cannot comment.
