I'm trying to find any instructions or diagrams that would show how to rebuild a fuel pump. I'm trying to refurbish a 1984 6hp Johnson. I've gotten the old girl running, but it appears that the fuel pump has issues (difficult to start, requires partial choke, power poor, etc). I removed the fuel pump to take a look and it appears that the PO took it apart previously and put it back together wrong (based on some loose/missing part issues). You can order rebuild kits for these carbs, but I haven't been able to find any diagrams that show how the pumps go together. It appears that Johnson just assumed that you'd replace the whole works. Does anyone know where rebuild diagrams or instructions could be found? The factory manuals don't appear to be of any help. Thanks

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. Looks like the PO forgot the diaphragm spring when he put it back together. He'd also forgotten the water pump key when he tried to fix that, so I guess I've got a theme going.
