I have a j30rleic. I am ordering rebuild kit for water pump and noticed the shaft input seal has a couple of tiny cracks around the upper lip ( just above the tension spring ). The motor was sitting for several years and when i changed the lower unit oil there was just a little water that came out before the oil (condensation??). I replaced the seals on the drain plugs and pivot pin first and was wondering if I can replace that shaft seal without having to tear apart the prop shaft and seals etc. Can this be done from the top?? Also wondering if I need upper and lower shaft seals or if just the upper can be replaced? I am looking at part # 0332261 upper seal (marineengine.com.)
