10hp Johnson Qd-19 and Qd20 recoil?

Does anyone know are the recoils the same on the 58 and 59 10hp QD series? The one on my 58
has several cracks in it and am afraid they are growing but still works at the moment. Found someone
that has a 59 recoil for sale and wondering if it will work.

HI dd. The pull start from virtually all of the 10hp models are interchangeable. You should be fine. Here are the parts catalogs so you can compare just in case.

The only difference I see is that the 59 does not appear to have the lug for the rubber strap that holds the front
of the cover in place.

I see what you mean. They each have slightly different recesses for the pull start handles. Although, the assemblies themselves are the same. I would think that you should be able to swap any parts as needed.

The Bad part about my original is the crack starts beside the back leg and goes up and starting across the top and another one starting at the center and is most of the way to the other side. The part number for 56-58 appears to the be the same number 59 is a different part number but may grab it at least to have as spare parts.
