25 hp evinrude need to know year

i have a 25 hp evinrude the modle # plate is missing how do i find out the year i have numbers from the carb ,head,water jacket,bottom of housing ,the block and pat # can i use any of this to find the year so i knowwhat to tell the parts store

Can you post a pic?

There should also be a welch plug on the powerhead with a number on it, what is that?

i only found one welch plug and there was nothing on it ,here are some pics hope they help

Looks just like my 1979 (Model number 25905R) except yours is a short shaft.

yes it was from a private seller but i have his name , license number , also it was on a boat so it has all his imfo so i'm not worried about it being stolen . thanks for the help on finding out the year
