I can currently by adjusting the trunnions on the gear shift cable get reverse gear with the propeller locked in both directions but only with forward locking in one direction. Conversely if I continue adjusting the trunnions, I can get propeller locking both ways in forward but not in reverse. The control box is from a 1979 Evinrude 200 hp as are the cables. I have performed a search and while there is lots of information i am wondering whether my problem is that I am using a 79 control box on a 2000 engine. A further update: I have now been able to get reverse gear and also forward gear by adjusting the cable trunnion. in order for the prop to lock both ways in forward however, I need to push the single console lever just a smidgen past the first detent position. I wonder from that if my gearshift cable is stretched. Any replies are appreciated. Don
