Hello all,
I have a 1997 johnson 150 (60 degree) that I am rebuilding myself. When I installed the first rod and piston on the crankshaft and spun it by hand, I noticed a very tight spot at one point of the rotation. I then put four more in and it felt the same. After I put the last one in, it got worse. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to correct this issue? Another thing I have noticed is that the crank bearing housings do not line up perfectly where they are broke even though I am positive that I have them on the locating pins properly. Is this a big issue or will they seat properly when the crankcase is torqued down? Thanks.
