I have a 55 hp evinrude 1979 and my friend has a 1977 Evin 55 hp. The engine stopped running at the end of the season last year but he has offered it to me as a parts eng.Are the 2 compatible? I looked on line at parts and it seems the 77'78 are the same and 79 to 82 or so are the same,but will most of the parts fit my 79? Such as the bottom end .etc. Mine runs great but for 200 bucks might be a good investment. Thanks Mario
