johnson 225 drive shaft stuck in power head!

I removed my lower unit last night to fix a binding shift shaft and the drive shaft came out of the lower unit and is stuck in the power head. Any suggestions on trying to get it out without pulling the power head? Is this a common problem these motors? HELP!!!

I guess I'm gona pull the power head off tonight, any suggestions on separating the shaft from the crank once the power head is off?

what year is the motor?

Before you pull the p/h, put a vise grip on the d/s in a nonsealing area and give it a few wacks with a BFH. Just a thought.

It is a 93 btw. yea, i've tried everything I could, I ended up pulling the power head and now soaking it with PB Blaster.

You might try mixing some Acetone and ATF 50:50 and try that. Have you got the mtr upside down ??
