WOT for 2005 Johnson 90HP

what is the normal WOT rpms for a 2005 Johnson 90 HP 2 cycle motor? my boat now runs at 4500 rpm's WOT and I thought it should be 5000+.

E-TEC 90-HP Replaces 2004 Johnson 90-HP - Moderated Discussion Areas Read the last 4 or 5 comments, sounds like you have a rare but good outboard. My 06 90 evinrude is supposed to be somewhere around 5-5400, I'd guess yours is the same.

I have tried every way to figure how at 5500rpms and 10% slip I am only going 45 mph and it never adds up. Also compared that to answers in other threads regarding this same issue it would seem to me that 50+ at 5500 wouild not be unreasonable. Plus this boat is not as heavy as a fiberglass boat which would support my finding. I am not saying I am absoluty right that what promted the thread in the first place so show me where I am wrong with numbers please. I am serious I probably am missing several factors I am not aware of.
