i have a 1956 eninrude 7.5 hp model 7520 outboard motor. i am repainting
the motor cover. the cover is 2 pieces put together by a long hinge pin.
need to remove pin to repaint both halves. the parts break down shows
a c-clip holding the pin in. there is no clip on this one to remove. have
tried to remove by locking pliers on pin and taping out. pin does not move.
any suggestions???????

If it were me, id refrain from removing that pin and paint it as is.

I spray them assembled as well. Youll have to put a final coat on anyways when you reassemble it. No way you will drive that pin back in without chipping paint.

Durn near impossible to remove the hinge pin after electrolysis has had it's way with it. Actually, I'm impressed that they even hinge.
