Hi folks,
I have a 2000 Johnson 35HP 3cyl 2 stroke tiller (J35TEL3SS). I want to convert it to remote controls. I am new to boating so please excuse my dumb questions.
Steering sounds simple enough, I just need the steering link kit which consist of a few bolts/nuts and the short link ( part 0173699) then get a teleflex kit which should fit right into place...I think?
Are "control cables" used as both throttle and shift cables? Looks like I need the post 1979 cable from teleflex. My current throttle cable linkage has a second unused "slot/nipple" thats marked "cable" and it looks like I can just slip the new cable onto there.
Shifter linkage also has a second unused "slot/nipple" too. Is this as simple as disconnecting the existing cable/linkage and buying two teleflex control cables?
