Been working on this old motor and think I'm close. Have posted other post on other questions. I'm running a 16 foot lowe jon boat wide bottom with a 17 pitch cupped alum prop. Have good hole shot planes out real nice runs smooth from idle threw hole shot to plane , cruise about 2500 rpm real nice. awesome power from there up to about 3500 rpm then although it is smooth the last 1/4 or so of throttle only gets me to about 4500 rpm. I checked to see if I'm getting all my throttle at wo and I am. Was thinking the spark advance needs to be allowed to come further back towards me meaning screw the stop in. I am not really thinking prop since it has the good hole shot and that awesome mid power. Any thoughts?
