hydraulic steering fluit

hello guys.I need your help again.today I got 2 quarts of "Mercury Synthetic Power Steering Fluid" I want to know if anybody know if I can used on my Seastar hydraulic steering system.Try to get inf on the mercury dealer and they didn't said much.Here is what I found on the mercury website.

Mercury Synthetic Power Steering Fluid.

Mercury Marine's new synthetic power steering fluid specifically designed for use with the Verado engine family. Can also be used in any Mercruiser or outboard product that calls for the use of a synthetic base fluid. Comes in a 32oz bottle.

Mercury Synthetic Power Steering Fluid SAE 0W-30
New SAE 0W-30 Synthetic power steering fluid
For use in power steerings systems on Mercury and Mariner Outboards where synthetic SAE 0W-30 steering fluid is recommended. For use in Verado power steering systems.

Don't know the reason for the Mercury requirements, but the Sea Star oil is not synthetic. Probably shouldn't second guess the engineers that designed the system.

Go with what Sea Star recomends and you should be okay.
