I have a 1996 evinrude 200 vindicator the carbs were changed to one from a 225 any one know what the stock jet size is suppose to be I have two 74 and four 72's that were in it. The previous owner jetted them down and these are the jets he said were in it. Where would the larger two go.

Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up the mtrs you're dealing with. They show the jet sizes.

If the jets came out of the carbs you are now running it with and you've had no probs, put the larger jets in for cyl's # 5 & 6.

I bought a 1996 200 Vindicator new in 1996, and still have it.
It came stock with 65D main jets on all six cyls, and #27 air bleeds in the front of the carbs.

What you have has been modified by someone.

The 200 hp carbs use 65D's and the 225 carbs use 72D high speed jets.

^^^^^^
Exactly right.

Best to note also that the 225 carb bores are larger than the 200. You cannot just change jets to make a 225.
You also must change the entire carb assembly...the black carb body AND the throttle butterfly plates in order to
convert a 200 to a 225.
I know....slightly off topic....but sorta related.

I talked to the previous owner he said he did put 225 carbs on it then jetted down to 70d for altitude we are at 8000 and the 72,s were for sea level. So would that make this a 225 motor?
