97 Johnson 25 hp recoil

Hi all, im new here i have a 97 Johnson 25hp motor, im having trouble with the pull start, it works but wont engage the flywheel. Any ideas or diagrams muchly appreciated Regards Glenn

starter paw may be bad or spring fell off.

You'll find the parts brake down if you look at post # 2 and click on that. Have your model #.

I had to work on mine a couple years ago. Here's a pic for reference. The paw is the blue part...
