Hi All,

Noobie here...I posted in another thread(oopps) and starting a new thread....anyways.....

I recently pick up a '54 Evinrude 2 stroke 15 hp and am looking for parts. Funny though the latest year I can find is '55. Does anyone know what major changes that Evinrude made to the '55? Also will '55 parts fit the '54? Specificatly items such as impellers Points, condensors etc. parts that are typical replacements for a motor of that age Any help would be helpful!

Quite a few differences between the '54 and '55. But, the consumable items you have listed are the same.

Some of the differences...
'55 has a sealed cowling with a gasket between the cowling and belly pan. '54 doesn't have a belly pan and tended to be noticeably louder.
'55 has the "5-bolt" lower unit, while the '54 has only 4 bolts holding it in place. The basic design of the 5-bolt unit stayed in play on numerous models for close to 30 years.
'55 has better shock mount system with five rubber mounts between the tiller/swivel brackets and motor.
