All need some info. about this motor. I was given a good 1961 18HP Evinrude 18 Fastwin. Would like to know how much it weights? I found info. about mix ratio, spark plugs, etc. But need a weight rating. Can't seem to find that any place... I'm guessing 130lbs or so but that is just a guess. Nothing like getting an old 2 cycle going again..... Look forward to using it on my G3 Guide V 14 XT....

Thanks in Advanced,

Re: 1961 Evinrude 18HP fastwin

Hi rc. Great old motor you've got there. The FD (Johnson)/E (Eveinrude)models are some of the best and strongest pound-for-pound motors ever made. I have a '66 FD-20C 20 hp, myself. They generally weigh in at around 85 lbs., whereas their modern 4-stroke 20 hp generally come in at around 115-140 lbs., depending on the brand and features. Here are some great links to get you started. You can get any routine parts you may need right here at iboats. Good luck. Holler if you get stuck.
